Koreans to build airport in island next to Boracay |

PHILIPPINE NEWS SERVICE -- BORACAY Island, Aklan—A Korean real estate company will start the construction next month of an international airport at Carabao Island, which is being eyed as the “Next Boracay.”
Carabao Island, part of San Jose town south of Romblon, is a 15-minute boat ride from the smaller island of Boracay, and has the same white-sand beaches and pristine waters, according to Tourism Secretary Joseph Durano.
Durano said Carabao Island is about four times the size of the 10-sq. km. Boracay, which accommodated more than half a million visitors last year. It is closest to the Puka Beach, the northern part of Boracay.

PITTSBURGH — A Philippine cultural and historical cornerstone is being built at the University of Pittsburgh’s historic Cathedral of Learning, reported Consul General in New York Cecilia Rebong, who attended the open house where the building plan was unveiled. The Filipino American Association of Pittsburgh (FAAP), headed by its 2007 president Tina Purpura and Architect Warren Bulseco, is spearheading this “important project" to ensure that the classroom commemorates the history and culture of Filipinos, she said. “They have finished the design process and are now raising funds to begin building the room," said Rebong in a statement. The Philippine Nationality Classroom will be designed by noted Filipino architects. |

Cathay building P1.25-B condo cluster in Golf City |

Cathay Land Inc. will set aside P1.25 billion to build a condominium cluster along the fairways of the South Forbes Golf and Leisure Club in Sta. Rosa, Laguna. Jeffery Ng, Cathay Land president, said the five condominium buildings – called the Golf View Terraces – will be built on a two-hectare lot. The first building, now under construction would cost P250 million. "We are proud to have begun construction of the first of five GVT buildings which is the next logical step after we have opened the golf course," Ng said. Earlier, Cathay Land announced that its 18-hole golf course inside the 500-hectare Golf City, an integrated residential community, has been completed.

Eton launches second property development |

E ton Properties Philippines Inc., the real estate arm of the Lucio Tan Group of Companies, launched on Thursday its second property development, the Eton Baypark Manila, which is located in the corner of Rizal Park and Manila Bay. Danilo Ignacio, Eton Properties president and COO, told reporters on Thursday that the residential condominium building will have a total of 210 units in 25 storeys and will be fully constructed in December 2010. "The development cost of this project is already included in the approved P10 billion capital expenditures that we announced earlier," Ignacio said.
