Eastwood earns $189M in exports
Sunday, 18 March 2007 01:43
Eastwood City’s PEZA-accredited business process outsourcing (BPO) firms registered US$188.575 million in export earnings for 2006, according to the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA).

Elmer San Pascual, PEZA Special Projects manager, disclosed that the record figure is based on their records for Eastwood City’s PEZA-accredited firms. Thus, the export earnings figure for all of Eastwood City’s 62 locators – 37 of which are information technology (IT) firms and 25 are non-IT – is significantly higher, said a statement from leading residential condominiums and business process outsourcing (BPO) buildings developer Megaworld Corporation.
"At the current exchange rate, the country’s first IT ecozone generated approximately P9 billion in export earnings last year. From call centers to HR systems, from animation to semiconductors design, most of our IT locators generated an increase in revenues. We also welcomed this month of March a new Fortune 500 locator, Dell," announced Megaworld FVP Jericho Go.

Go also expressed Megaworld’s bullishness on the business prospects of its newest township project, the 50-hectare McKinley Hill in Fort Bonifacio. "Our first BPO building there, One World Square, is now being finished and will be operational in May. And we just broke ground on the next tower, Two World Square. This is in response to the tremendous demand for office space in an excellent location such as McKinley Hill," Go declared.

He also made a prediction: "With the continued construction of 3rd-generation BPO buildings such as One World Square and the rush of BPO firms to this new location, McKinley Hill will also post excellent dollar export earnings in the near future, just like what Eastwood City does now."

Interested BPO firms and corporate locators may inquire about office space at One World Square at McKinley Hill, Fort Bonifacio by calling 912-0708 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it .
