Setting standards for elegant living
Thursday, 13 December 2007 08:00

There was a time when elders would describe properties with the phrase “as far as the eyes can see.” Continuing to set the standards for elegant living, maverick real estate developer Brittany Corporation raises the bar once more as it redefines a new measure to capture the scale of its grand vision. Beyond what the eyes can see, Brittany has moved on to beyond what the mind can imagine.

Four of its major properties have literally changed the landscape of South Manila, creating cities of secured self-sustaining communities in areas previously thought to be too far from the urban hub. A proud member of the country’s largest home builder, Vista Land and Lifescapes, Inc., Brittany has made its various developments a testament to a vision that has pushed the borders of imagination into a reality that continues to defy scale and grandeur.

“Claiming that our developments are big is the easy part. We can count hectares, number of units, etc. and people can immediately see that Brittany covers a large area. But more than the numbers, we are proud that our properties have spearheaded many innovations that set the standards in the real estate industry today. Our inventive use of masterplanning and our pioneering efforts in developing what we have dubbed as ‘art-chitecture’ are just some of the things that make our properties transcend the limits of imagination truly beyond measure” declared Vista Land president and CEO Jing Serrano.

True to their innovative spirit, Brittany is now set to progress to the second phase of developments in their flagship properties.

Portofino

Rising on over 300 hectares of prime land, Portofino is, perhaps, the country’s finest representation of Italian architecture, creativity and craftsmanship. It is a mere ten minutes away from the Alabang CBD and is easily accessible through major road networks. Current developments are already in place for the Portofino residents. These are the clubhouse called Monte di Portofino, a convenience store, al fresco dining area called Parco de Medici, swimming pools for children and adults, a river park, basketball and tennis courts, mini amphitheater, scenic jogging trails, bicycle path, and an open soccer field and pavilion.

An important component of this self-contained community is the Mercato di Portofino where residents have easy access to lifestyle shops, groceries, and entertainment outlets while enjoying the piazza inspired atmosphere of this commercial center. Fernbrook Garden, an 8,000 sqm events and dining venue is set to open soon. Once completed, it will be the largest events venue in the south. It also has a Basilica-inspired chapel and a river complete with gondolas.

Georgia Club

Dubbed by investors as the most valuable piece of real estate investment in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, Georgia Club sits on a 60-hectare prime property that offers signature homes inspired by the stately mansions of the American South. Located within the prized estate of Sta. Rosa’s landed Quiros family, it is adjacent to two of the most exclusive golf and country clubs in the country today: The Sta. Elena Golf Club, and the Country Club.

The country’s oldest Catholic university, the University of Santo Tomas, in partnership with the Quiros family, will soon be building its new home in the south. The 45-hectare UST complex is envisioned to have a teaching hospital, a residential enclave for its faculty and staff and a complementary commercial area right nearby.

Lakefront City Central

The new Metropolitan hub with a stunning panorama of the majestic Laguna de Bay, Lakefront City Central is a 60-hectare prime property envisioned to be a next world class destination. A gateway of the Metro South, it offers various residential enclaves from low-to-mid-rise condominiums by Crown Asia and high-end residences by Brittany.

Here, Brittany offers picturesque San Fransisco-inspired duettos and quadrilles of the Victorianne and the mid-to-high rise towers of The Marfori. It has redefined the parameters of the urban landscape with its tree-lined entrance driveways and a central park that promotes a healthy, urban lifestyle.

Soon to rise is the Bay Hub, a 10-hectare interactive business district which will soon cater to prestigious companies, BPOs and financial institutions. Lifestyle centers like The Wharf will be expanded to provide a wider selection for entertainment. Upscale lifestyle shops on Nob Hill, a Country Club, Boutique Hotel and serviced apartments will complete the epitome of high life.
