In a statement to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Megaworld dubbed the new development as Greenbelt Chancellor, which the firm said would be the first pre-furnished condominium in the Greenbelt, Makati area. The company said the P1-billion investment will finance both the construction and the furnishing of the condominium units. “Megaworld is taking the idea of convenience to a higher level by making its units pre-furnished. All the buyers and future residents need to do is move in and they will find all their desired appliances and furniture already ideally set up," the company said. Megaworld said the new development’s target market includes entrepreneurs, overseas Filipino workers, and doctors, due to the project’s proximity to the Makati Medical Center. The company said Greenbelt Chancellor unit prices range from P3 million to P13.4 million. Megaworld Corp. posted a 75.86 percent growth in its net income in 2006 to P2.04 billion from P1.16 billion in 2005. This was due to real estate sales, which almost doubled for last year. The company, which is controlled by Andrew Tan of Alliance Global, is also responsible for the ongoing Mc Kinley Hill project in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig, and the Manhattan Gardens development in Cubao, Quezon City. - GMANews.TV
