Space-saving DESIGNS

Simplicity, practicality and minimalism—these are what the Japanese offer to the Filipinos’ most common home interior problems. Being internationally renowned for these three distinct characteristics, the Japanese aesthetic is a refreshing concept that deviates from the extravagant, and most of the time cluttered interiors of many Filipino homes.

New San Jose Builders, developers of affordable, ideally located city developments, is now starting to introduce Japanese interior design in the Philippine real estate industry. With the help of Takoshi Kimatchi, a Japanese interior designer and the director of Corogn Creative and Design Company, New San Jose Builders now ushers Filipinos into a new concept of interior design through Victoria Station, one of its flagship condominium developments under the Victoria brand.

Space

Most Filipino homes, especially those located in the city, have a problem with space, and one response to this is the natural intelligence of the Japanese when it comes to space planning.

“The Japanese don’t have much space available. With so many people living in a city, it’s very crowded and we have to live in very small spaces like condominiums and apartments, so we know how to maximize space,” says Kimatchi. “They should avoid buying unnecessary furniture and should be more interested in space-saving items.”

Cost

An economically yet elegantly designed interior is also made possible by Japanese interior design.

“Affordable interior design and decoration can be achieved, “ says Kimatchi. A homeowner could easily cut the cost of interior designing by coming up with simple home interior ideas that are less costly but are equally appealing. Spending the right amount on the right expenses can cut the cost of interior designing dramatically.
