Filipino windows among Asia’s best
Sunday, 18 March 2007 01:48
Leading window fashions brand Hunter Douglas has recently announced that it has chosen five entries from the Philippines to be included in its prestigious list of the most beautiful windows in Asia.

These windows will be featured in a book called "Window—Shades of Luxury Living", which will be released throughout the region this year.

"We are excited to announce that five of the most exquisite windows from our country will be immortalized in a coffee table book that features the best of its kind in Asia. This is truly an honor worth celebrating," Jet Bije, sales director of Hunter Douglas Philippines.
According to Bije, the coffee table book features selected interior designers and the projects they have done using Hunter Douglas Window Fashions’ range of products. It is inspired by another coffee table book published by the company in Latin America last year.

Manila’s best

Some of the interior designers and homeowners whose work are going to be featured in the Hunter Douglas book are Marcelo Alonzo, Jaya Ibrahim and Associates, Freddie and Lorna Motos, Melvin Porta, and Camilo Vasquez, Alvir and Mabel Jugo.

Alonzo incorporated Hunter Douglas’ Roller shades, Silhouette window shadings and wooden blinds to create clutter-free rooms that evoke a sense of peace and privacy.

Jaya Ibrahim and Associates tapped into Hunter Douglas’ rich collection of wood blinds to complement the Balinese theme that its client wanted for his home.

Hunter Douglas Florette Privacy Sheers and Silhouette Window Shadings added more drama to the high ceilings of the Motos’ luxuriant residence.

Porta, on the other hand, achieved the challenging task of combining a country-style theme with a Zen interior with the help of Hunter Douglas’ and Duette Ultraglide honeycomb shades while Vasquez’ works accomplished a tropical-inspired environment with the use of Hunter Douglas’ wooden blinds.

Meanwhile, the Jugo team used Hunter Douglas’ roller shades to accentuate the high "lofty" windows of their tropical-modern house with Asian eclectic design.
